King of the hills
Today I went for a run, to play in the hills of Tilos. From Megalo Chorio to Livadia and back. It was magical in so many ways!
I stuck posters about my children's performance in Livadia, a village in the south. I was really touched with so much help on the way. Everyone was very welcoming to get the posters out in their shops. I even got two bottles of water and a free coffee! While sticking the posters I had a few nice talks! In the supermarket I met Zafiris Oikonomou. He organizes lots of trainings, workouts and obstacle runs in the hills! He talked about with so much energy and passion, that it lit a fire! It sounds truly amazing! Unfornately it's not possible to experience it before I leave, hopefully I will be back on this Island!
Then the run itself! The surroundings were breathtaking, my energy was growing and growing after every step. On the way back to Megalo Chorio I could just keep going. Some bird whistled, a few goats passed by and for the rest I could only hear my feet and backpack. Then there was silence, my feet moved effortlessly. I was king of the hills, merged into the moment. Truly magical! At the end it made me realize that this is why I want to play 'Backpack of Happiness' for kids: to be truly amazed about what can happen if you do something that you really want from within! I also discovered that I'm actually living my dream life right now, here on Tilos!
In Megalo Chorio Anna - she works in one of the mini markets - told me that the story about 'Backpack of happiness' was well spread across the island. It gets even better: a lot of children know about the play. And that fills my heart with so much joy!
I am so insanely grateful for this day and for living on this amazing island. I feel so alive!
